Q: What other types of restrictions are there?

A: In addition to the above content guidelines, the following restrictions apply to all HIT Program ads or pages:

Q: How do I know this is quality traffic?

A: Each of the more than 5,000 sites in our networks are individually reviewed for quality content and professionalism before they are eligible for acceptance. They range from small-medium size sites to very large sites with significant amounts of existing traffic.

Q: What is meant by a "unique" visitor?

A: A unique visitor is an actual person visiting your web site. This is usually based on a 24 hour time period. So if a person visits your site, leaves and comes back one hour later, this would still count as just one unique visitor.

Q: Are these visitors really targeted?

A: Yes. Visitors are targeted by selecting the categories of sites in our networks with the closest matching interests to your target market (this is referred to as "category targeting"). Keep in mind that this is not like search engine traffic, where visitors actually choose to go to your specific site, and are looking specifically for what you provide. However, we have over 15 distinct categories from which to choose, so you can run your campaign on the types of sites more likely to have visitors who may be interested in your offer.

Q: How long before I start receiving my traffic?

A: All submissions are manually reviewed for content and ad guidelines before being entered into the system and queued. Assuming there are no problems with the submitted page, you can expect to start receiving traffic in about 2 to 3 business days (depending on current volume levels).

Q: How long does it take to receive all of the visitors I've purchased?

A: Campaign length will vary by current traffic levels at network sites and categories chosen. For smaller traffic volumes, this can sometimes be a matter of days. Unless otherwise notified on very large orders, all traffic is guaranteed to be delivered within 30 days.

Q: What page should I send the visitors to - my home page?

A: That depends. What is your desired result from the campaign and how well does your home page "sell" it? For advertising sales strategies (and some branding campaigns), the homepage is often best.

For increasing sales, leads or registrations, unless your home page does a great job of grabbing a visitors attention and then really "selling" your specific objective, we would recommend you consider creating a full page ad or special offer page that effectively catches the eye and then specifically motivates visitors to take the action you desire.

Remember, although these visitors are category targeted and therefore somewhat prequalified, this is not like search engine traffic (we'd have to charge you 30 to 100 times as much for that!), and the visitors will not have specifically chosen to go to your site looking for what it offers.

Always give your visitors a compelling reason to 1) stay on your site, and 2) take the desired action.

Q: Can I use your service to promote an affiliate program?

A: Absolutely. This is a great way to take advantage of the power of our HIT Program even if you don't have a web site of your own (see the question below). All types of affiliate link codes can be used with our system, so long as the advertised site meets all eligibility requirements.

Q: Do I need to have a web site to use your services?

A: Actually, no. There are a number of sites that will pay you sales commissions for referring visitors to them. These arrangements are known as Affiliate Programs.

When joining an affiliate program, you are given a special tracking link with which to promote that site. If you use this link with our HIT Program and a visitor makes a purchase at that site, you would receive a commission. We have seen this method generate up to a 300% return on the advertising investment.

(Note: Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions and payment information for any affiliate program you join to make sure you are in compliance. 4WebHits.com is not responsible for any third party actions or obligations.)

Please see the "Affiliate Programs" section on our Resources page for links to recommended sites with affiliate programs.

Q: Why would I want to become a Top 500 web property?

A: Big sites want to do business with other big sites. There are hundreds of companies and investment firms that watch the monthly rankings looking for potential partnerships, acquisitions and investment opportunities. When you reach the Top 500, or even the Top 1,000, people will notice and they will contact you to pursue opportunities to do business.

A good ranking can also have a significant impact on your company's valuation. If you are looking to raise capital or to sell your site, being highly ranked could prove to be of critical importance.

So what will it take to get there? The precise amount varies, but usually about 2 million visitors per month will put you in the Top 500. There are companies that spend literally millions of dollars to obtain and keep a Top 500 ranking. Now you can reach the same pinacle within 1-2 months, but at a cost of under $5,000!

This is truly an amazingly powerful concept!

Q: Do I need to do anything to prepare for the traffic?

A: When purchasing large quantities of visitors, it is always advisable to check with your web host to ensure they are prepared to handle that volume of traffic. 4WebHits.com is not responsible for server problems or overages for advertised sites.

Q: How much money can I make with all of this traffic?

A: We have absolutely no idea. Maybe none. Maybe quite a bit. What is your profit margin per sale? How competitive is your product or service? How much demand is there for it? How well does your site sell it?

We can't answer these questions for you, but we can give you some possible examples and then let you plug in your own numbers.

Note: The following examples are for direct sales only and do not include additional revenue sources such as advertising sales, company valuation enhancement, or long-term branding benefits.

The above examples are for purposes of illustration only. You may do better or worse depending on a number of factors. Individual results will vary widely and may produce either profits or losses.

Q: How can I get thousands of targeted banner impressions for free?

A: The following describes a strategy that is completely optional - but can be highly effective, particularly for currently smaller sites. This can be used to effectively gain a number of free targeted banner impressions up to the number of visitors purchased in a package.

For example, a 20,000 visitor package could also yield up to an additional 20,000 free targeted banner impressions on third-party networks. As these networks or similar sites can sometimes charge between $10 and $30 CPM for banner ads, this alone could represent a value of up to $600!

The strategy involves the use of networks known as "banner exchanges." These are networks of sites that will display your banners in exchange for your displaying of their banners, usually at a ratio of 1:2 (that is, they will display one impression of your banner for every two impressions of their banners that you display).

Perhaps the best known of these is Microsoft bCentral's LinkExchange.com. This and certain other exchanges offer the opportunity to category target member sites on which you wish your banners displayed.

This is how the strategy works: for each banner exchange that you join and place their banner on the page you advertise with us, you would receive half as many targeted banner impressions on their network as the number of visitors you purchased in our package (assuming the standard 1:2 ratio). By using two such exchange banners on the page you promote thru us, you would thus receive impressions equal to the number of visitors in your package.

In essence, buy 20,000 visitors and get 20,000 banner ads for free! Of course, the more visitors you purchase, the more free banner impressions you will receive.

Theoretically, you could place more banner exchanges on the same page, but this is discouraged, as it may violate the terms of the banner exchanges. In addition, depending on how your page is laid out, even one or two of these banners may adversely affect the quality of your page to the point where it is not acceptable for our program. Be prudent with this.

Please note that this strategy is certainly not recommended for everyone; however, it can be extremely powerful for those who are able to effectively utilize it! It may also be a particularly effective strategy for use with our less expensive, non-targeted traffic packages (you can find these listed on the Order Page).
